The Scriptorium
Welcome to where gifted intellect runs free

A quiet haven for a gifted intellect
Finding inspiration from the concept of the hugely talented and often humorous medieval monks creating their manuscripts in settings across Europe this is my space to share a little about me as an author and technical writer.
Writing as an introverted but sociable realist from a unique spectrum perspective (gifted, left-handed and female) I seek to explore topical but intriguing subject matter. My role as Cognitive Diversity Advisor means that I provide the spark, the perspective shift and advice to clients.
Beyond data grids and site boundaries my professional practice is rooted in the power of the written word. My writing bypasses clinical pretense and institutional noise to analyze how physical landscapes, built environments and material culture interact with a modern world with a view to creating a future for the past and present.
The operational blueprint
What I offer clients as a writer
1. Commissioned Features and Commentary: Authoring deep, human-centric commentary on navigating modern landscapes alone and analytical features exploring how automation such as AI impacts historical and archaeological records.
2. Technical Proofreading and copy Editing: Reviewing complex architectural layout reports, heritage publications and specialist monographs to ensure structural text integrity and linguistic precision.
3. Material Culture Narratives: Crafting research-based highly engaging historical copy that seamlessly connects physical artefacts with public interest for journals and design boards.
Advisory Scope and Practical Mandate
My professional practice is strictly non-medical, non-clinical and entirely grounded in real world application. Whilst I hold an Hons BA in Sociology and Archaeology and an MA in Museum Studies, I also hold certified qualifications in Tourism and Heritage Management, Service Level Improvement and have held a SafePass since 2000. My advisory perspective is forged through a 26 year fieldwork career navigating raw data set creation and evaluation, records and archive management and creating a culture of data compliance across Irish archaeology and Heritage sectors.
As an independent Cognitive Diversity Advisor who personally lives the actual 0.09% demographic reality (Gifted spectrum, left-handed and female) I provide an authoritative lived-experience lens to help readers connect empathetically to topical areas for improvement through my personal philosophy of KaizenKISS.
