Joanne O Meadhra

CEO & Founder

BA, MA, MIAI

Joanne, the visionary founder and CEO of Déantán, has dedicated her career to preserving and celebrating cultural heritage. With a strong academic foundation, she earned her degree in Archaeology and later an honors master’s degree in Museum Studies, both from University College Cork (UCC). Since 2000, Joanne has been at the forefront of the archaeology and cultural heritage sector, channeling her passion into commercial expertise that transforms the way we understand and manage our shared past.

Specializing in project management, Joanne has become a trusted leader in post-excavation practices and cultural collections management. Her meticulous approach to developing innovative processes and procedures ensures that artifacts and archives are handled with the utmost care, from discovery to display. 

At Déantán, Joanne combines her field expertise, and entrepreneurial spirit to build bridges between the past and present, inspiring others to protect and appreciate the cultural treasures that shape our world.

Róisín O Meadhra

Head of Graphics and Illustration

BA Fine Arts

Róisín is a professional archaeological illustrator and distinguished artist with a passion for merging creativity and precision with technology. An honours graduate from Waterford Institute of Technology with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art, Róisín has showcased work in numerous exhibitions with her art now hanging in private collections across America, Australia, England, and Ireland.

An active member of Visual Artists Ireland (VAI), the Institute of Archaeologists of Ireland (IAI), and an affiliate of CIFAs Graphics Archaeology Group (GAG), Róisín brings a unique blend of artistic vision and technical expertise to every project. With a keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for heritage, Róisín leads our Graphics and Illustration team with creativity, dedication, and a commitment to excellence.
